Mark Thiel

Mark  has an extensive background in the financial services industry and is currently the Managing Director of Thiel Partners Accountants. Marks career spanned both corporate and investment banking and has held senior executive positions in several of Australia’s largest banks including in recent years as Head of Investor Relations at Suncorp.

In the last 10 years Mark has concentrated on building a boutique accounting practice specializing in tax and compliance, corporate advice, audit and forensic accounting. Mark is a Director of numerous companies in the finance and property sector. He was educated in Melbourne and has a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics and Graduate Diploma in Banking Management.

 

   

 

 

Jon Burgess

Senior Manager      

Jon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Honours Bachelor Accounting Sciences degrees.

He specialises in audit, forensic accounting and valuations but also maintains a large taxation and general accounting client base.

With over thirty years of accounting and audit experience, largely obtained as a partner in second tier international practices, coupled with a legal background, he currently holds a practicing certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, is a registered tax agent and also is registered with ASIC as a company auditor. He is a member of the Forensic Accounting Interest Group at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Jon was registered as an auditor for over twenty years with the Public Accountant and Auditors Board in South Africa, prior to hi immigration to Australia, and remains a registered member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has held a practicing certificate with the Association of Authorised Public Accountants (UK) and in 1994 was elected as a Fellow to the same association.

Jon is also financial director of Boston One Ltd, the parent company of Thiel Partners Pty Ltd and Thiel Partners Corporate Pty LTd.

                                       

 

 

 Nawal Stilianos

 Senior Manager

Nawal manages a dynamic team who specialise in business compliance and taxation for medium sized businesses with a turnover of $100,000 – $5,000,000., Nawal works very closely with her clients to review their accounting and reporting systems, structures for asset protection and other general compliance matters such as employee taxation, superannuation, GST requirements and business financing matters.  Nawal also works with over 200 investors in relation to rental property ownership strategies, capital gains matters and PAYG variations to maximise rental property negative gearing benefits.

Nawal holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Financial Management.  In addition to this Nawal has completed many short courses in business development, business communication, marketing and internet sales..

Nawal is the licensed migration agent in the firm and is a Member of Migration Institute of Australia; she took on this role after noticing that some migration agents, although very skilled in migration law, did not have an understanding of the business requirements for business visa applications and this was becoming an issue in the industry.  Nawal has successfully assisted over 60 clients in obtaining permanent migration through the skilled and business visa pathways, and is proud to say that she has not had a failed visa application to date.

Nawal is extremely supportive to her clients, and believes that professionals in every field should prioritise the welfare and success of their clients first and foremost, before any personal financial gain.   Ashley Summerville

  Senior Manager

Ashley has been working in public practice since 1992, and has a broad range of experience over a variety of industries.

Ashley is Senior Manager of Thiel Partners Compliance & Taxation division. Ashley is highly active in providing structuring and practical tax advice. This advice ranges from basic tax matters and business restructuring to effective tax planning. Ashley & his team work with clients to ensure they benefit from regular contact, intelligent insight and clear direction.

Ashley also heads up the Self Managed Super Fund area and can advise in all areas of operation and compliance.

With a primary focus to provide entrepreneurs with highly responsive and strategic business solutions, Ashley ensures his knowledge translates in tangible terms to drive real business outcomes.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and IT, he is a member of CPA Australia and a Registered Tax Agent. Ashley is also the company secretary of Boston One Ltd.
